'Awesome Women Exemplars' Honored in Penn's Inn

Thirty-one of the evening's 'Awesome' honorees gather for a group photo in Penn's Inn The Student Activities Office hosted the second annual "Awesome Women Exemplars" program in observance of Women's History Month on Tuesday night, honoring 39 women from the campus community during a reception in Penn's Inn.

Students, faculty and staff were encouraged to nominate any Penn College female faculty, staff or student they admire.

Lizabeth S. Mullens , vice president for academic affairs/provost, was the featured speaker for the event (as well as being an honoree), offering observations on women and leadership. Prior to joining Penn College in July, she developed and implemented the Women's Leadership Initiative at the Pennsylvania State University. She also has experience as a faculty member and academic leader in colleges and universities in Tennessee, Colorado and Maine.
