Pennsylvania College of Technology officially opened its arms to first-year and transfer students during Welcome Weekend on Aug. 14-15. On Saturday, students moved into on- and off-campus housing and made final preparations for Monday's start of classes.

In a dual celebration two years in the making, a ribbon-cutting for Penn College's new plastics wing and the christening of the Thermoforming Center of Excellence  were held April 6-7 in the Breuder Advanced Technology and Health Sciences Center.

Pennsylvania College of Technology conducted its Summer Commencement ceremony Saturday, Aug. 7, at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. Tammy M. Bergquist, of Montoursville, awarded an associate degree in radiography, was the day's student speaker. More than 230 degrees were conferred by college President Davie Jane Gilmour, accompanied by Lynda M.

The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of Pennsylvania College of Technology's Madigan Library, hosts “Full Deck,” a traveling exhibit of skateboard art on loan from the West Coast, through Sept. 22. An opening reception for the exhibit – an extraordinary medley of eye-popping color, unique self-expression and pungent social commentary – was held Thursday, July 22.

Four Penn College automotive students received a heroes’ welcome as their laboratory labor of love – restoration of a 1965 Ford Mustang for public showcase – was officially returned to the Antique Automobile Club of America’s Museum on June 26.

New students and their families attended Connections sessions in June and July, gaining a leisurely orientation to the Penn College campus before the hubbub of fall.

The Community Arts Center was home to three Spring Commencement ceremonies held May 14-15 for more than 900 students graduating from Pennsylvania College of Technology. Friday's 3 p.m. proceedings featured students from the schools of Business and Computer Technologies, Hospitality, and Transportation Technology; Saturday's 10 a.m.

More than two dozen companies operating in the region's natural gas industry were on hand to discuss job opportunities during the public Marcellus Career Expo of North Central PA from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. May 1 in Penn College's Field House.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus hummed with activity on Saturday, April 17, as runners, walkers, bikers and others combined fun and philanthropy in a variety of activities: A 5K event to benefit scholarships for the School of Health Sciences, and a motorcycle rally and Walk-It-Out event (including a popular pie-in-the-face attraction) to raise money for the American Cancer Society

Tim-brrrrr! On a brisk, spring day more suited for burning wood than cutting it, Pennsylvania College of Technology's Schneebeli Earth Science Center hosted the Mid-Atlantic Intercollegiate Woodsmen's Meet.
