Founding father Benjamin Franklin had the vision to see how a modest bequest would assist Pennsylvania students two centuries into the future.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's Board of Directors on Thursday approved contracts for the student-housing facility to be built adjacent to College West Apartments, authorized a national search for a vice president for student affairs, and received a report from College President Dr. Davie Jane Gilmour on the record-setting enrollment for Fall 2002. Dr.

Lobar Inc. of Dillsburg will be the general contractor for a construction project that will add new student housing adjacent to Pennsylvania College of Technology's College West Apartments. The College's Board of Directors approved bids submitted by Lobar and four other contractors.

Pennsylvania College of Technology presented Student Achievement Awards recently to students graduating in Summer Commencement ceremonies. The students and their awards are: PRESIDENT'S AWARD, for leadership and service to the College: Susan Diane Roberts, Lewisburg, Physician Assistant.

Offered by the Counseling and Career Services Office at Penn College, Project Choice provides comprehensive career exploration for anyone wishing to forge a new career path.

Approximately 140 students have petitioned to graduate from Pennsylvania College of Technology in summer commencement ceremonies to be held Saturday, Aug. 10, at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport. The student speaker for the 11 a.m. event will be Susan D. Roberts, Lewisburg, who is enrolled in the Physician Assistant bachelor-degree major in the School of Health Sciences at Penn College.

Brandon L. Lebo, a student in the Construction Management bachelor-degree major at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been selected by the Construction Management Association of America Foundation as its first national scholarship winner.
