The Financial Aid Office reminds students that the application process for scholarships available through Penn College is now open. Applications submitted will be considered for the Fall 2009/Spring 2010 academic year. Applications will be accepted through April 1. This one application will be used to determine eligibility for all scholarships the college offers.
Class of 2009 radiography students Kate Anton, of Julian; Ann-Denise Reed, of Montandon; Aleah N. McNeal, of Williamstown; and Alyson J. Kern, of Mapleton Depot, were selected to compete in the Radiography Technibowl, a competition against other radiography students from across the state, at the Hershey Medical Center on Nov. 11.
The glory of real-world experience and the glare of reality television recently intersected for a group of Pennsylvania College of Technology students and their mentors, who traveled to Franklin County for an "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" construction project to benefit a family dedicated to helping special-needs youngsters.
As part of National Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week and as temperatures dropped on their way to midnight Tuesday Penn College students camped out on the pedestrian mall behind the Bush Campus Center.
During National Radiologic Technology Week, Nov. 2-8, the students from the Radiography Program designed poster boards to be displayed at their respective hospital sites: Evangelical Community Hospital, Mount Nittany Medical Center and Susquehanna Health. Students compiled information about radiation protection and the physics of radiography.
More than 70 students, faculty, staff and friends gathered Sunday at the Bush Campus Center for the annual student reception. The students presented information about their native countries and fashioned traditional clothing. They also shared national food, music and dancing. The event was coordinated by the Multicultural Society and the International Programs Office.

Penn College's Student Athlete Advisory Council has started a new program called "Reading with the Wildcats" in which athletes from the college's 15 varsity sports will go to Sheridan Elementary School and read to the children.
