Food Show photo gallery Pennsylvania College of Technology students raised more than $1,600 for Greater Lycoming Habitat for Humanity during the annual "House for a Home" chocolate house auction Dec. 5. The event was held during the college's Food Show, which showcases final projects of students from several School of Hospitality classes.

Taking two cars to the Society of Automotive Engineers Collegiate Design Series "Baja SAE Montreal" contest, Pennsylvania College of Technology finished respectably among more than 90 competing schools and is under way with plans for the 2009 contest.

In an effort to lessen their impact on the environment and natural resources, the Penn College's Student Government Association has begun the process of going "paperless." Inspired by the desires of students, SGA's Executive Board decided it would use technologies, such as the organization's Web site and the recently implemented SharePoint program known as the myPCT portal to make this environment

Due to financial constraints, River Valley Transit has announced that the free College Town student shuttle will not resume in January. The late-night service, which made a variety of stops throughout the campus community from 8 p.m.-2:10 a.m., ended Dec. 5.

Dajah V. Jones, an early childhood education major from Hummelstown, has been chosen as November's Student of the Month by the Student Government Association at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Student-related offices are recruiting for Connections Link, Resident Assistant and Wildcat Welcome Team positions for the 2009-10 academic year. Interest meetings will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 20, and at 9 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, in the CC TV Lounge.

More than 35 students gathered Tuesday in the CC TV Lounge for a Winter Open House, at which returning adult students shared their college experiences and successes. They enjoyed the camaraderie and relaxed time together, with pizza, beverages and door prizes supplied by the Student Activities Office, Food Services and The College Store.

For the second consecutive year, Pennsylvania College of Technology's Student Nurses' Association earned top honors for its Web site at a state conference. The site which earned the "Outstanding Web Site" award from the Student Nurses' Association of Pennsylvania was designed and is maintained by club President Mary Jo Nonnemacher, of Bethlehem, who is pursuing a bachelor's degree in nursing.

Devin C. Mattern, 21, of Milroy, a sophomore enrolled in the electronics and computer engineering technology: robotics and automation emphasis major at Pennsylvania College of Technology, died Sunday, Nov. 30, from injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Armagh Township, Mifflin County.
