Candace S. Baran has been named director of financial aid at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Baran, formerly a director of professional and community education for Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College, succeeds Dennis L. Correll, who was appointed to the new position of associate dean of admissions and financial aid in June.

A professor of business administration/management and head of the business administration department at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently attended the 2008 Biannual International Conference of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education in Barcelona, Spain. Donald O. Praster has been appointed dean of industrial and engineering technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Praster, who joined Penn College in 1976, had been serving as interim dean of the School of Industrial and Engineering Technologies since 2007.

The Student Activities Office is organizing a new community-service project this winter called Operation Snowflake. Student organizations will sign up to sponsor a week during the winter months. If it snows during that week, the organization's members will shovel the walks of elderly citizens and alumni in the area.

Patricia J. Martin, clinical director of the occupational therapy assistant program at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has been asked to extend her term as a member of the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education.
