Pennsylvania College of Technology has launched a search to fill three academic-dean's positions by July 2001. The search has commenced for deans in the schools of Business and Computer Technologies, Industrial and Engineering Technologies and Integrated Studies. Applications are being reviewed, and the search will continue until the positions are filled.

Gov. Tom Ridge has appointed James E. Doebler, associate professor of aviation at Pennsylvania College of Technology, to the state's newly established Aviation Advisory Committee. Doebler, a resident of Muncy Valley, has taught at Penn College since 1988. He received his letter of notification from the governor this week.

Pennsylvania College of Technology has honored Dr. Kirk M. Cantor, associate professor of plastics and polymer technology, with an Excellence in Teaching Award. The award is presented to a full-time faculty member who has been nominated by students and colleagues for excellence in instructional performance. Pennsylvania College of Technology has announced the appointment of Dennis E. Gilbert as director of the Technology Transfer Center. A Williamsport native, Gilbert is a Penn College alumnus with a degree in computer science. He has more than 14 years of technology-related experience, with the past 10 years in a technology business-management capacity.

Pennsylvania College of Technology presented its Distinguished Teaching Awards, including the Master Teacher Award, in commencement ceremonies held Saturday, May 13, at the Community Arts Center in downtown Williamsport. The Master Teacher Award, the highest level of faculty recognition conferred by the College, was bestowed upon Benjamin H.
