Pennsylvania College of Technology presented "Distinguished Staff" and "Part-Time Teaching Excellence" awards Wednesday, while also honoring retirees and the newest members of the College's "Quarter-Century Club." The honors were bestowed at an Employee Recognition Week Reception held at Penn's Inn in the Bush Campus Center.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's Web site has won two prestigious awards in The Communicator Awards 2003 Print Media competition. The College Web site was honored with "Awards of Distinction" in both the "Design/Web Site" and "Web Site/Overall Site" competition categories. The Communicator Awards is an international competition recognizing outstanding work in the communications field.

A Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty member will speak at the Diving Equipment & Marketing Association's national convention, to be held Oct. 8-11 in Miami. Paul W.

Lisette N. Ormsbee has been named the new director of the Pennsylvania College of Technology Library. Dr. Davie Jane Gilmour, College president, appointed her to the position following a two-part nationwide search. Ormsbee who comes to the position with more than 25 years of public-service experience will report to Dr. Henryk Marcinkiewicz, associate vice president for academic affairs.

Dr. Jill Landesberg-Boyle, an administrator with more than 10 years' experience in higher-education leadership, has been named vice president for student affairs at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Dr. Landesberg-Boyle whose hiring was approved Thursday by the Penn College Board of Directors following a nationwide search will begin her duties May 26.

In a national competition, Pennsylvania College of Technology recently received Gold, Silver and Merit Awards for a magazine it publishes, a television cooking series it produces and a TV commercial it created to promote visitation days for prospective students and their families.

Pennsylvania College of Technology employees have set a record for giving to the Annual Fund Employee Campaign, shattering the old mark set just last year. "When we kicked off the 2002-03 campaign last May, we set a goal of raising $45,000 in donations from employees," says Annual Giving Officer Jim Finkler.

A CD-ROM used in student-recruitment efforts has earned Pennsylvania College of Technology a prestigious Award of Distinction in The Communicator Awards, an international competition honoring excellence in visual communications. The College won the award in the "Multi-Media/Interactive CD-ROM" category for its "degrees that work" marketing tool for prospective students.

A member of the drafting faculty in the School of Construction and Design Technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology will be presented with a teaching award at the 14th International Conference on College Teaching.
