Few institutions would mark a 20th anniversary while planning for a centennial celebration just five years later, but Pennsylvania College of Technology plans to do just that. Twenty years ago, on July 1, 1989, the legislation that created Penn College was signed into law by Gov. Robert P. Casey.

The School of Health Sciences recently held two summer camps for high school students interested in exploring the health-care profession: the third annual EMT/Paramedic Camp on June 5-7, and the ninth annual Health Careers Camp, June 10-12.

More than 50 original works of art by dozens of Penn College employees are on exhibit in the Gallery at Penn College through June 30. An opening reception was held Thursday in the gallery, on the third floor of Madigan Library, to showcase the magnificent manifestation of the employees' creative spirit.

Area high school students were on campus Wednesday for the "Plastics Experience," which culminated in a remote-control car race in Bardo Gymnasium.

One Book, Every Young Child Pennsylvania College of Technology's Children's Learning Center recently participated in the fourth annual Pennsylvania "One Book, Every Young Child" initiative by inviting special guest readers to share this year's selected book, "If You Were a Penguin," by Wendell and Florence Minor.
