One Book, Every Young Child
Pennsylvania College of Technology's Children's Learning Center recently participated in the fourth annual Pennsylvania "One Book, Every Young Child" initiative by inviting special guest readers to share this year's selected book, "If You Were a Penguin," by Wendell and Florence Minor.
Every child received a paperback copy of the book and a special penguin sticker, compliments of the Lycoming County Community Engagement Group and James V. Brown Library.
Readers included college President Davie Jane Gilmour; Robert M. Fisher, vice president for business affairs; Lizabeth S.Mullens, vice president for academic affairs/provost; Jim Cunningham, vice president for information technology; and Carolyn R. Strickland, assistant vice president for academic affairs.
Local attorney Marc Lovecchio also readto the children afew weeks ago, at the invitation of the Community Engagement Group; Patrick M.Breen, a first-shift custodian at the Bush Campus Center, read another book, "Never Talk to Strangers," by Irma Joyce.
