Students in nearly a dozen diesel and heavy construction equipment courses will be positively impacted by a longtime partner’s loan of an excavator to Pennsylvania College of Technology.

The naming of two instructional labs at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Schneebeli Earth Science Center heightens the visibility of a corporate partner’s enduring behind-the-scenes investment in the next generation of industry leaders.

Wednesday was "Groff Day" at Penn College's Schneebeli Earth Science Center, where about 50 diesel technology students benefited from three learning sessions – along with enjoying a pizza lunch and a slew of giveaways. The day was made possible by Groff Tractor & Equipment, which sent four employees to the Allenwood-area campus to meet with students in advance of this month's Career Fair.

An agreement with Cleveland Brothers Equipment Co., a time-honored corporate partner of Pennsylvania College of Technology, pairs a qualified technician with students in the electrical power generation curriculum for preventative maintenance of the institution’s electrical generators.

Twenty-six participants from 14 career and technical education centers took part in Pennsylvania College of Technology’s second annual diesel competition at the Schneebeli Earth Science Center, which offered an impressive exhibition of student know-how and an impactful celebration of what it portends for the industry’s sustenance.

Motor Truck Equipment Co., the parent company of Kenworth of Pennsylvania and Motor Truck Thermo King, has enhanced and expanded its partnership with Pennsylvania College of Technology.
