Kelly Generator & Equipment Inc., a leader in the power generation industry, has donated a generator for use at Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Schneebeli Earth Science Center.
The 155-kilowatt Generac 2000 Series generator, recently delivered to the Allenwood-area campus, will be used by students and faculty in Power Generator Theory & Operation; Power Generation Systems; and Gaseous Fueled Engines Operation, Applications & Troubleshooting courses.
“We are always looking for different manufacturers’ brands for our students to learn in the labs,” said John D. Motto, diesel equipment technology instructor. “This is a Generac generator that is very common in the EPG industry and will provide students with valuable knowledge for when they graduate.”
Being able to work on a Generac generator will allow students to contrast it with products from other original equipment manufacturers, he added.
“We are pleased to partner with Penn College on this opportunity,” said John E. Kelly III, safety officer and facilities manager. “It helps students learn the technology that is representative of Kelly Generator, as well as help them build familiarity with the company as they consider future career opportunities.”
The Maryland-based Kelly Generator & Equipment Inc. (established in 1992) and Kelly Generator & Equipment of Pennsylvania and West Virginia Inc. (since 2012) are the mid-Atlantic distributors for Generac Power Systems and Siemens Energy.
“We are grateful for the support of Kelly Generator,” said Elizabeth A. Biddle, senior corporate relations director. “Bringing Generac technology to our students further helps them as they prepare for the workforce.”
