The School of Business and Computer Technologies' observance of National Cyber Security Awareness Month continued with an informative presentation "Forensic Accounting: White-Collar Crime and Financially Motivated Crimes" in the SASC presentation room Thursday afternoon. Special Agent Annmarie M.

"Hiding in Plain Sight," part of Penn College's observance of National Cyber Security Awareness Month, was held Tuesday afternoon in the PDC's Mountain Laurel Room. The rapid evolution of malicious software whether used for concealing data, destroying data, unauthorized access or identity theft is affecting business operations around the globe.

On Sept. 29 and 30, Penn College's catering class will again provide food at the annual Gourmet Harvest Festival at Hunt Country Vineyards in Branchport, N.Y., on the western flank of Keuka Lake. The students will be accompanied by chefs Michael J. Ditchfield, the catering class instructor, and Monica J. Lanczak and Paul Mach, who will offer cooking demonstrations.

On Tuesday afternoon, approximately 30 students from the Information Technology and Electronics & Computer Engineering Technology programs enjoyed a presentation by Harry Rundall, territory sales manager for Fluke Networks.

Students in Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Hospitality will benefit from a new scholarship fund honoring the recently retired manager of the school's Le Jeune Chef Restaurant.

From background checks to forensic accounting, a variety of informative topics will be discussed at Pennsylvania College of Technology in the coming weeks to mark October's designation as National Cyber Security Awareness Month. On Tuesday, Sept. 25, Harry Rundall, senior territory sales manager for Fluke Networks, will bring some of the latest technology in enterprise performance management to Pennsylvania College of Technology students. The event, hosted by the college's Cisco Networking Academy from 3:30 to 5 p.m.

Pennsylvania College of Technology students will set up a food station at the Williamsport Growers Market on Saturday, Sept. 8, where they will use the participating growers' products to create a wide variety of sample dishes for the public. Fourteen students, all enrolled in a Catering course taught by Chef Michael J.

Asesh K. Das, professor of information technology in Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Business and Computer Technologies, recently was nominated by former students to be included in the 11th edition of "Who's Who Among America's Teachers." "(It's a) great, deep honor for a teacher," said Das, who continues as a multiple-year nominee, having been honored annually since 2004.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Hospitality will host "A Farewell Tribute to Peter Hellermann," longtime general manager of the school's Le Jeune Chef Restaurant, on Sept. 10. Frederick Frank, president of the award-winning Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars, will be the guest vintner in a fitting tribute to Hellermann as he retires.
