While competition resumed last week for four Pennsylvania College of Technology fall sports teams for the first time in nearly two years, the men’s and women’s tennis teams look to continue building this week on the progress they made last spring.

After a near two-year offseason due to the COVID-19 pandemic, fall sports athletes in soccer, women’s volleyball and cross-country are more than ready for their return to competitive action. “We are ecstatic to be back on UPMC Field with the opportunity to compete this fall, and we are committed to make the most out of our first season back on the pitch.

A new head coach. Four new hall of fame members. Special honors for three coaches and a former men’s basketball player. A new face in a “new” conference. A record number of scholar-athletes. It has been a busy offseason for Pennsylvania College of Technology athletics. And, with the start of the fall sports seasons just around the corner Sept.

LaQuinn N. Thompson, a 2016 alumnus of Pennsylvania College of Technology, was honored with an Alumni Achievement Award at the college’s Summer 2021 Commencement ceremony at the Community Arts Center. The Alumni Achievement Award is presented to a graduate of the past 10 years in recognition of noteworthy career accomplishments that demonstrate the importance of a Penn College education.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology Athletics Department has announced its 2021 Hall of Fame Class: Kendel F. Baier, Scott E. Kennell, Jamie L. Steer and James C. Woodring. The four inductees will officially enter the Hall of Fame on Friday, Sept. 24, in a 6 p.m. ceremony during Homecoming and Parent & Family weekend.

Penn College women’s basketball, women’s soccer and men’s lacrosse are teaming up to hold the second annual Wildcat Dash virtual 5K run and 1-mile walk.  Register, then run or walk anytime and anywhere from Aug. 4-7!  T-shirts and printable race bibs are included with all registrations, and competitive 5K runners are eligible to win medals and other prizes.
