For the fourth straight season, Pennsylvania College of Technology's women's volleyball team is playoff-bound and has a legitimate shot at winning a conference championship. The Lady Wildcats, under eighth-year coach Bambi Hawkins, completed their regular season with a 16-6 overall record and were 14- 2 in Penn State University Athletic Conference matches.

Penn State University Athletic Conference championship weekend is on tap for two Pennsylvania College of Technology athletic teams. The men's and women's cross-country teams travel to Penn State Wilkes-Barre on Saturday and the co-ed tennis team is at University Park on Saturday and Sunday. Cross-Country Penn College runners have dominated conference meets during the regular season.

In an effort to showcase Penn College student-athletes, the Athletics Department has instituted Senior Day for all 15 varsity sports. Seniors on the women's soccer team were honored Saturday, Oct. 13, at halftime of their game, and women's volleyball seniors were honored Monday, Oct. 15, before the start of their match.

At Homecoming festivities recently, Pennsylvania College of Technology presented, for the first time, Outstanding Varsity Athletic Alumni Awards. The 2007 recipients are Wayne M. Parfitt, of Newport News, Va., and Sara J. Smith, of Troy.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's baseball team split at Penn State Beaver on Saturday and closed out its fall season with a 16-7 record, 7-3 in the Penn State University Athletic Conference. The two teams finished tied for first.
