Word was received this week that George Walter Reed Jr., a former Williamsport resident, died Feb. 21, 2022, in Florida at the age of 89. Reed, whose longtime business and community involvement included service as regional manager of the local Merrill Lynch Pierce Fenner & Smith office, was a former member of Penn College's Corporate Advisory Board.
Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Jennifer N. Severson took first prize, for the second year in a row, in the Mrs. T’s National Pierogy Day Recipe Contest. Severson is head cook in CC Commons, one of nine dining units on campus. Her winning recipe is for pumpkin spice pierogies, featuring roasted root vegetables and pumpkin curry.
