Brett A. Reasner, associate professor of aviation and the 1999 Master Teacher at Pennsylvania College of Technology, has accepted the position of chair-elect for College Council. "I am pleased with the chance to serve the College in this capacity. I look forward to working with colleagues currently serving in the Governance system and encouraging new members to join," he said.
Pennsylvania College of Technology and the National Exercise Trainers Association, a nonprofit fitness-professional organization, are co-sponsoring three nationally recognized workshops at the College in April. The Penn College Fitness Center welcomes Mike Brienza, a second-year Physical Fitness Specialist major from Little Egg Harbor, N.J., who is completing his professional fieldwork in the PFS program by working at the Fitness Center this semester. Brienza is available to perform fitness assessments and personal-fitness training for Fitness Center members.
Leonard R. Filipkowski, associate professor of collision repair in Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Transportation Technology, has received a Master Certified Technician award from Toyota's Collision Repair and Refinish Certification Program. The Picture Rocks resident has instructed in collision repair and refinishing for almost 32 years.
Two native Tuscan chef/innkeepers are on the campus of Pennsylvania College of Technology this week to work with students and host an Italian dining event for invited guests on Feb. 5 with the menu "A Taste of the Tuscan Sun." Dennis E. Gilbert, director of Workforce Development and Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology, will be the keynote speaker at the 2005 Non-Credit Continuing Education National Conference. The conference, which is being presented by the University of South Carolina College of Education, will be held at the Ocean Creek Resort in Myrtle Beach, S.C., on April 3-6.
Pennsylvania College of Technology invites the public to share in celebrating the completion of extensive renovations at its most historic building, the Klump Academic Center, formerly the Williamsport High School. A video tribute to the building, "Time Will Explain it All," will be shown at 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Sundays throughout February on SusCom (the local cable TV provider) Channel 2.
