Penn College physical therapist assistant students visited The Williamsport Home, where they provided two 30-minute activity sessions for residents in the home’s independent living apartments. Each year, students select a community organization or event they would like to work with as part of a yearlong service-learning project. This year, the Class of 2024 voted to provide exercise and wellness sessions to older adults in area long-term care facilities.

In the spotlight for the first time at the Community Arts Center was the Billtown Brawl, matching Pennsylvania College of Technology's wrestling team against Lycoming College. Touted as the first-of-its-kind event in central Pennsylvania, with NCAA-division wrestlers battling it out on a theater stage, the contest drew a crowd exceeding 350 to the downtown Williamsport venue.

More than 90 aviation students experienced a Gulfstream G280 business jet last week, thanks to an alumnus and his employer: Constellation Brands Inc. Patrick Herring, who received an aviation maintenance technician certificate from the college in 2000, arranged for the twin-engine jet to travel from Rochester, New York, to the Lumley Aviation Center.

Garrett D. Corneliussen gained more than a job from his education at Pennsylvania College of Technology. He secured a career: One he hopes will make a difference for society. The 2017 welding & fabrication engineering technology graduate believes his latest position offers strong potential to meet that lofty objective. Corneliussen is the founding engineer for manufacturing at Reframe Systems, a company that aims to build attainable net-zero modular homes at massive scale.

Pennsylvania College of Technology is engaged in an Education Trade Mission in India, promoting higher education at events in five cities in southern India. The outreach has attracted considerable interest from higher education partners, students and media in India. Representing Penn College on the mission are Anthony J. Pace, associate vice president for enrollment and academic operations, and Patrick Marty, chief government and international relations officer.

The delicious duo of beer and food was explored at the first “Cooking with Class: Meet the Brew Masters” event, held recently in Le Jeune Chef Restaurant on Pennsylvania College of Technology's campus. The evening featured a reception, a tour of the college’s brewing & fermentation science lab, and a three-course dinner paired with beers provided by New Trail Brewing. As a result, the fourth-seeded Wildcats earned a shot at top-seeded Penn State Harrisburg at 5 p.m. on Monday in a United East Volt Division semifinal.
