Education Trade Mission in India attracts media interest

Pennsylvania College of Technology is engaged in an Education Trade Mission in India, promoting higher education at events in five cities in southern India. The outreach has attracted considerable interest from higher education partners, students and media in India.

Representing Penn College on the mission are Anthony J. Pace, associate vice president for enrollment and academic operations, and Patrick Marty, chief government and international relations officer. The two are seen in two media reports on the mission, including a newspaper article published by Daijiworld.com and a news video by Mathrubhumi News.

Penn College’s logo is featured prominently in the video, including during an interview with U.S. Consul General Christopher W. Hodges, who serves at the Consulate General in Chennai, India.

Penn College is among 18 U.S. colleges and universities participating in the Education Trade Mission, along with universities from Australia, the U.K. and the Republic of Ireland, among others. Mission objectives are designed to help participants attract Indian students to U.S. education, explore institutional collaborations and partner with study abroad counselors.

The mission, running Feb. 12-20, is organized by the U.S. Dept. of Commerce, International Trade Administration, U.S. Commercial Service in India, in collaboration with the U.S. Dept. of State and EducationUSA Advising Center in Chennai, India.
