Groff Tractor & Equipment is the latest Corporate Tomorrow Maker to visit the Schneebeli Earth Science Center to showcase its new equipment and technology to Pennsylvania College of Technology’s diesel, heavy equipment and power generation students.
GT&E brought along a new John Deere 320 P-Tier backhoe and also engaged students in a classroom session on connected support. In the Earth Science Center’s Industry Room, the company hosted a diesel trivia contest, awarding prizes to student winners.
Among the GT&E personnel on hand were two Penn College alumni, both graduates of heavy equipment technology: technician emphasis – David M. Coakley, ’06, a field service technician, and Brandon S. Uhrich, ’20, connected support manager with the company’s Technology Solutions Team.
“Groff is helping to empower the next generation of heavy equipment technicians by showcasing equipment and technology today,” said Chris S. Weaver, assistant professor of diesel technology. “GT&E helps us to shape futures and build bridges to success through education and innovation."
