Veronica M. Muzic, whose dedicated service as a faculty member and administrator is tightly woven through 50 years of college history, died Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at the age of 82. The Pennsylvania College of Technology Board of Directors on Thursday voted to approve the college’s 2019-20 budget and the appointment of Michael J. Reed as vice president for academic affairs and provost, which will be effective July 1.
The Pennsylvania College of Technology Board of Directors has approved a 2019-20 budget of $157.3 million, which represents a $7.1 million (4.3%) decrease in spending from 2018-19. The budget includes a 2.95% tuition increase for Pennsylvania residents, marking five consecutive years of increases held below 3%. When tuition and fees are combined, the increase is lower: 2.51%.
Michael J. Reed has been appointed vice president for academic affairs and provost at Pennsylvania College of Technology, effective July 1. His appointment was approved Thursday by the Penn College Board of Directors. Reed, who has been employed at Penn College since 2014, had been serving as vice president for academic operations and associate provost.
