Pennsylvania College of Technology's Board of Directors has endorsed a plan that charts the direction of the institution in terms of facilities and property holdings over the next five years.
Determining the optimal size for the institution and implementing a College-wide outcomes-assessment plan are among the objectives of a Strategic Vision for 2004-09 approved by the Pennsylvania College of Technology Board of Directors. The document, which includes a dozen goals to be pursued, provides a road map for the direction of the College over the next five years.
For the third consecutive year, state Rep. Brett Feese (R-Plunketts Creek) has delivered a $500,000 state grant to purchase instructional equipment at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Rep. Feese negotiated the special appropriation to provide for instructional equipment that the College would not have been able to purchase due to a 5-percent reduction in its state appropriation.

Mike Murzynski, a Construction Management student from Erie; and Elizabeth Brown, a Culinary Arts Technology student from Sayre, were the men's and women's overall winners in Tuesday's first "Penn College Field Day." In the Women's Division, Brown won the push-ups (36), sit-ups (38) and shuttle run (11.3 seconds).
Fifty Pennsylvania College of Technology students were inducted recently into the campus chapter of Alpha Chi, a national honor society for baccalaureate degree students. Membership in Alpha Chi is open to bachelor-degree students from all academic disciplines and is limited to the top 10 percent of an institution's junior and senior classes.
Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus near Wellsboro will host an open house on Thursday, April 29, for those considering nursing as a career. The 5 to 7 p.m. event will feature tours of the campus (located just east of Wellsboro on Route 6), opportunities to speak with current students and faculty, as well as information about the application process, tuition and financial aid.
"The Engaged Librarian: Activism on the Library Issues of the Day" will be the topic of a program to be presented April 27 at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Adults over the age of 25 who are enrolling as full-time students this fall at Pennsylvania College of Technology may be eligible for a new $2,500 annual scholarship. The new Penn College scholarship recognizes the institution's commitment to its nontraditional student population.
