Faculty are invited to participate in the Teachers Learning Community, a group of faculty from all areas of campus who gather on a monthly basis to engage in discussion on scholarly teaching, exchange ideas and gather feedback. This semester kicks off with a screening of the 2002 film " The Emperor's Club" at 3:30 p.m. Sept. 1 in CAL, Room104. Everyone is invited.

The Style Guide offers guidelines for using Penn College names and places, official statements such as the nondiscrimination statement, editorial standards, and more.

An automotive professor at Pennsylvania College of Technology has co-authored two books − characterized as first-of-their-kind texts for automotive professionals − and has been accepted into "Who's Who in America." Ronald A. Garner, an associate professor of automotive technology, co-wrote "The Service Consultant: Working in an Automotive Facility" with C.

Based on their high academic achievements, six freshmen are the first to have been accepted into the new honors program at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Fall 2005 Orientation culminated in a "Penn College Welcome" event on main campus Sunday night, offering the academic community a last dose of summer fun before Monday's start of classes. Students heard remarks from Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour; Student Government Association President Sabrena O'Keefe; and Chester D. Schuman, director of admissions.

The next session of "Project Choice" − a free program at Pennsylvania College of Technology that provides assistance for adults considering a career change − will begin Sept. 19. Offered by the Counseling, Career and Disability Services Office at Penn College, Project Choice provides comprehensive career exploration for anyone wishing to forge a new career path.

Ward W. Caldwell has been named director of residence life at Pennsylvania College of Technology. A native of Bay Village, Ohio, Caldwell comes to Penn College from Susquehanna University, Selinsgrove, where he has served as associate dean of student life/director of residence life and judicial programs since 1997.

Students and faculty logging into WebCT this fall will find a course titled "WebCT Student Tutorial" on their myWebCT login screens. This tutorial will provide an orientation to WebCT for distance-learning and on-campus students, and can serve as an on-demand reference to the basic functions of WebCT for students and faculty alike. More than 500 new Penn College students started the day Saturday with the "Safari Breakfast" event. Students were served breakfast in the Susquehanna Room, then were invited to visit the BTC hallway, which had been transformed into a jungle/safari environment.
