More than 500 new Penn College students started the day Saturday with the "Safari Breakfast" event. Students were served breakfast in the Susquehanna Room, then were invited to visit the BTC hallway, which had been transformed into a jungle/safari environment.
Navigating around 7-foot palm trees and inflatable monkeys, students visited with Penn College staff from 18 departments, seeking answers to various college-related questions on a "Penn College Passport" they had been issued.
Students who submitted their completed passports became eligible to win a number of prizes donated by local businesses, lenders and Penn College departments.

A special "thank you" to Trinity United Methodist Church, Winfield, for lending many of the decorations used in this year's event.
The Safari Breakfast committee also extends its appreciation to the Orientation Leaders for their extensive help during a busy Orientation weekend. The leaders joined in at 6a.m. even after having worked very late the previous evening. According to organizers, they helped set up tables and decorations, guided students, and made it very welcoming for the staff and guests.Casey Gardner won a $25 Staples gift card, and Lacey Daubert was the winner of a $20 Staples gift card.
