Wielding rakes, leaf bags and paint rollers, Penn College students descended upon the Williamsport YWCA for a Saturday afternoon of community service. The students organized by K. Dex Tuttle, assistant director for programming in the Student Activities Office raked and bagged leaves at the 815 W. Fourth St. facility and repainted traffic lines.

The director of instructional technology and distance learning at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently earned her doctoral degree. Jennifer McLean completed her Ph.D. in education at the Minnesota-based Capella University with a specialization in teaching and learning.

Ian Devenish, director of co-op program and industry liaison for engineering students at Central Queensland University in Rockhampton, Australia, toured Penn College's School of Industrial and Engineering Technologies on Friday morning. He was set to tour other schools in the afternoon.

Services were held this week for James "Andy" Hinson, a general studies student from Milton, who died Sunday at the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Full military honors were accorded Hinson, who was a member of the Lewisburg-based 3rd Battalion, 103rd Armor of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
