On Dec. 12, Jim Clark, manager, training, of Aker Philadelphia Shipyard, paid a visit to Pennsylvania College of Technology's welding department to share with faculty and students some information about the shipyard, its products and procedures, and some opportunities for welding employment with the shipyard.

The courses are taught by qualified instructors at a comfortable pace for all levels of adult learners. The small, noncredit classes are held from 6 to 9 p.m.

To celebrate International Printing Week (Jan. 14-20), Archives & Special Collections has mounted a display of photos and tools to illustrate the early days of the college's printing program. A woman enrolled in the Practical Nursing Program at Penn College's North Campus has died. Mary J. Pond, 52, of Mansfield, died unexpectedly Thursday, Jan. 11, at her home. The Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, handled arrangements. Burial was in Portage Township Cemetery, Gardeau. Penn College flagswere lowered to half-staff in tribute.
