Thursday, January 18, 2007

You can learn more about medical insurances and improve your job possibilities by taking an introductory course at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus, located three miles east of Wellsboro.

Classes for Introduction to Medical Billing and Coding will be held from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday evenings, Feb. 6 to May 1.

The noncredit course will introduce the concepts of ICD-9 and CPT coding and help participants understand the correlation among coding, billing and reimbursement. The course will also include some medical terminology.

Julie Stager, who has 25 years of experience in a variety of medical areas, will serve as instructor. The course will be most valuable to those working in medical offices; however, participants without medical experience will also be able to enjoy the course.

If there is an interest, more advanced courses may be offered.

The cost of the course includes instruction, textbook, resource materials and supplies. For more information, or to register, contact the North Campus at (570) 724-7703 or by e-mail .
