Five graphic design students at Pennsylvania College of Technology have earned Student American Advertising Awards from the American Advertising Federation of Northeast Pennsylvania. In an impressive showing, the Penn College students captured four of six gold awards and six of eight silver awards. They were honored at the association’s annual awards banquet, held Feb.

The first time Stone Skinkle-Howard set foot on Pennsylvania College of Technology’s campus, the Texan didn’t think to bring a coat. The unforgiving temperatures on that brisk March day in 2014 made him regret the oversight but not the visit. The prospective welding student quickly discovered that the college met his high expectations.

A concert by The All-American Rejects, sponsored by Penn College and The Campus Activities Board of Lycoming College, will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, April 22, in Lycoming's Keiper Recreation Center. Tickets – $15 for students and $20 for the public – will be available at the Bush Campus Center Information Desk during the week of March 28.

Pennsylvania College of Technology took home two Silver CUPPIE Awards recently in a competition sponsored by the College and University Public Relations and Associated Professionals. Presented for creative excellence in marketing and communications, CUPPIES are awarded annually by CUPRAP, the mid-Atlantic’s oldest regional organization for professionals in higher education communications.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s 2016 Alumni Sweethearts, Timothy D. and Whitnie-Rae (Mays) Haldeman, visited campus recently to stay overnight in the Victorian House and dine in Le Jeune Chef Restaurant. The Haldemans, of Hanover, won the fifth annual Alumni Sweethearts contest conducted on Alumni Relations’ Facebook page.

An alumnus of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s forerunner is supporting the future of the school with a new scholarship. Paul and Erika Sykes, of Royal Oak, Michigan, have established a scholarship through a bequest in their will. The scholarship will benefit graduates of Williamsport Area High School who enroll at Penn College.
