For the first time in school history, Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestlers have a shot at a NCAA national championship and they begin that quest Friday and Saturday at the NCAA Division III Southeast Region Championships in Rocky Mount, Virginia. The top three finishers in each weight class will advance to the NCAA Division III Championships from March 9-10 at Cleveland, Ohio.
Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestlers wrapped up their regular season over the weekend while the men’s and women’s basketball teams, which close out their seasons with home games on Wednesday and Saturday, went a combined 0-6.
Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s basketball and wrestling teams scored victories over the past week. Jesse White (14) scored 10 points in the Wildcats' losing effort against Bryn Athyn College on Saturday. Men's Basketball In home North Eastern Athletic Conference action on Saturday, Penn College lost to Bryn Athyn College, 63-53. The Wildcats were outscored 37-18 in the second half.
Over the past week, two of three Pennsylvania College of Technology winter sports teams picked up victories. Men's Basketball On Wednesday at home, Robert Young Jr., of Abington, scored 24 points as Penn College shot 52 percent from the field and got its first North Eastern Athletic Conference win of the season, 77-67, over Cazenovia College.
Over the past week, Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s and women’s basketball teams saw their first action since December, but, along with the wrestling team, went a combined 1-11. Men's Basketball On the road at Penn State DuBois in nonconference action on Tuesday, Penn College lost, 100-91, in overtime after being outscored 14-5 in the extra period.
After season starts that produced just one win each for the Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s and women’s basketball teams, both coaches are hopeful of better results this half. The women’s team returns to action on Monday at Misericordia University and the men’s squad plays on Tuesday at Penn State DuBois. North Eastern Athletic Conference action resumes Saturday.

Closing out the first half of its season at the 85th annual Wilkes University Open Friday afternoon, Pennsylvania College of Technology wrestlers finished 33rd in a field of 51 schools represented. Penn College’s Dan Bergeron, of Jackson, New Jersey, at 157 pounds, and Nicholas Bruce, of Troy, at 184, both ended the day 1-2 with wins by major decisions to account for the Wildcats’ 3.5 points.
As the fall semester came to an end, Pennsylvania College of Technology men’s basketball team closed out an 0-2 week. The wrestling team is in action this Friday at the Wilkes University Open.
