Students Tracey E. Brewbaker, Beth A. Snoddy and Michael D. Womelsdorf and instructor Emily B. Miller all competed in the Lehigh Valley Half Marathon on Sunday, April 27. Brewbaker and Snoddy are physical fitness specialist students who will graduate in May; Womelsdorf is a returnee to the half marathon and soon will graduate from Penn College with a technology management degree.

Among high school students who earned gold medals in the recent SkillsUSA Pennsylvania Leadership and Skills Conference was Lycoming Career and Technology Center senior Jordan Hill, who is also enrolled in early childhood education courses at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

The 2007-08 Student Activities Awards Banquet, honoring the campus and community involvement of Pennsylvania College of Technology's committed student leaders, groups and faculty advisers, was held Wednesday night in the Bush Campus Center.

Last November, Jeffrey J.Faherty, a sophomore at Pennsylvania College of Technology, ran his first marathon ever in Harrisburg . Today, he's savoring the moment of running in and completing the Boston Marathon. Faherty covered the 26.2-mile course in 3 hours, 22 minutes April 21. "It was incredible," Faherty said of the experience.

The College West Apartment complex emerged as the victor in a recent four-week recycling contest held among Pennsylvania College of Technology's residence halls. The winner was determined by the weight of recyclables produced by each complex compared to the number of residents in the complex. Coming in second wasRose Street Apartments.
