A 1993 Chevrolet Camaro, converted into an electric-powered dragster and suitably adorned in its Wildcat finest for a trip to Hershey, will be displayed in the Antique Automobile Club of America museum there through Memorial Day. After a cross-curricular journey between two of Penn College's academic schools, the Wildcat electric dragster was transported to the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum as part of an exhibit of alternative-energy vehicles.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's Children's Learning Center received a Keystone Stars Merit Award and a Keystone Stars Education and Retention Award totaling $46,480 for 2011-12. The center uses the funds for staff development, the purchase of toys and furniture for the children, accreditation-related expenses, special health and nutrition activities, and family events.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's Children's Learning Center received continued funding to help provide child care access to parents pursuing higher education at the college. Generally referred to as a "CCAMPIS" grant, which stands for "Child Care Access Means Parents in School," the funding comes from the U.S.

An English-composition professor at Pennsylvania College of Technology was recently named the nonfiction editor for Aethlon: The Journal of Sport Literature. Mark D. Noe, a longtime Aethlon editorial board member, will begin his duties as editor with the journal's 28th volume. Aethlon is designed to celebrate the intersection of literature with the world of play, games and sport.

The on-campus and off-campus activities of an applied human services student from Lewistown have resulted in her selection as the 2011-12 recipient of the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Ashley M. Stuck, who will be entering her junior year at Penn College this fall, was chosen from among numerous applicants for the $1,000 scholarship award.

The School of Industrial and Engineering Technologies held a camp for 20 ninth- and 10th-grade students June 11-13. Campers were introduced to a variety of engineering technology careers by providing: information on engineering technology careers, hands-on workshops, tours of engineering facilities and an opportunity to network with current Penn College students and faculty.
