'Wildcat' Electric Dragster Travels to Hershey for Museum Exhibition
Thursday, March 1, 2012
After a cross-curricular journey between two of Penn College's academic schools, the Wildcat electric dragster was transported to the Antique Automobile Club of America Museum as part of an exhibit of alternative-energy vehicles. The 1993 Chevrolet Camaro, a longtime project of automotive technology students (including the Penn College Motorsports Association), this week was emblazoned with appropriate decals designed and installed by graphic design faculty and students from the School of Integrated Studies. And, aftersome finishing touches by collision repair students in College Avenue Labs, the car was trailered and taken to the Hershey museum. Representatives of the School of Transportation Technology will be on hand for Friday's opening of the exhibit, which will feature more than a century's worth of coal-, gas-, wood- and steam-powered vehicles through May 27.
