Gamma Epsilon Tau, a co-ed graphic communications and graphic design fraternity,welcomed seven new members on Dec. 9: Barbara Andreassen and Tim Miller (not pictured), Megan Pennington, Ashlyn Hershberger, Alison Beitz, Stacey Rupp and Chelsea Sanders. The new members each received an official membership certificate, along with a wallet card and fraternity T-shirt.
The graphic communications program at Pennsylvania College of Technology has been selected as one of four finalists to receive a grant of equipment from the International Corrugated Packaging Foundation. The purpose of the grant is to acquaint students with graphic design, structural design, business, marketing, engineering and other diverse career opportunities the industry offers graduates.
An exhibition of student photographs is on display in Bookmarks in the Madigan Library, part of the work completed for the Spring 2008 Commercial Photography course (PHO230) taught by Gary R. DiPalma, assistant professor of graphic design. The photographs were taken in four basic subject areas: fashion/portrait, food, product and architecture.

A Pennsylvania College of Technology associate professor of mass communications recently earned honors for his work with an area National Public Radio affiliate. WVIA-FM and WVYA-FM host more than 100 hours of locally produced content each week. Among those contributing to local content is Brad L. Nason, who teaches courses in radio broadcasting at Penn College.
The Gallery at Penn College, on the third floor of the college's Madigan Library, hosted an opening reception on Tuesday for its graphic design student portfolio exhibit, which runs through May 13. Gallery hours are 1-4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Wednesday and Friday. All exhibits are free and open to the public.
