Pennsylvania College of Technology held induction ceremonies for two of its academic honor societies Saturday: Phi Theta Kappa for associate-degree students and Alpha Chi for their four-year colleagues. Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour and Tom Gregory, associate vice president for instruction, participated in both ceremonies.

In order to inform students and the general public about their health care options under the Affordable Care Act, Counseling Services at Pennsylvania College of Technology is sponsoring a program titled “Demystifying the Health Insurance Marketplace and Healthcare Reform” at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 26.

Students and the community are welcome to attend the first financial literacy program at Pennsylvania College of Technology on April 10. The event is being organized and hosted by several student organizations, most in the college’s School of Business & Hospitality.

Berger A better understanding of food labels awaits attendees of the Spring 2014 Madigan Library Forum, at which Penn College's registered dietician will discuss how to effectively read labels to make healthy choices and fit likable foods into daily meals and snacks. Sharon A. Berger's presentation, "Eating Your Way to Wellness Through Label Reading," will be held from noon-1 p.m.

Career Fairs this week gave Penn College students and alumni invaluable access to more than 180 employers representing nearly 2,100 job and internship opportunities. This semester’s Career Services-sponsored events were from 9 a.m.-noon Monday in the ATHS lobby for health sciences majors; 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesday in Bardo Gym for all majors; and 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

PGA Tour professional and Lewisburg native Jason Bohn will headline the 28th Annual Pennsylvania College of Technology Foundation Golf Classic, to be held on Monday, June 23, at the Williamsport Country Club. Proceeds from the event, sponsored by Wolyniec Construction Inc., benefit the Penn College Foundation Golf Classic Scholarship – a quasi-endowed scholarship fund exceeding $1 million.

The Student Government Association at Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold its annual Silent Auction on Thursday, March 27, to benefit a student-nurtured scholarship fund that spotlights community involvement and campus leadership. The public is invited to attend the auction, to be held from noon to 5 p.m. in Penn’s Inn on the second floor of Penn College’s Bush Campus Center.
