On Thursday, a group of students from Tsuyama National Technical College in Tsuyama, Japan, toured Penn College's School of Natural Resources Management. The tour was part of a weeklong student exchange program organized by Penn College's International Programs Office and physics instructor Joseph E. LeBlanc.

Mack Trucks Inc. recently donated $36,000 worth of transmissions two Allison transmissions and a Mack unit to Penn College's Schneebeli Earth Science Center for student instruction. Mark E. Sones, instructor of diesel equipment technology, was able to secure the generous donations from Mack Trucks' Macungie facility when he heard they were available.

From Oct. 6-9, Volvo held its Northeast Master Cup Technician Competition at Penn College's Schneebeli Earth Science Center. Twenty-one technicians in teams of three represented area Volvo dealers from Rudd, Penn Jersey and Highway Equipment. According to David R. A Camp Hill firm has established an endowed scholarship fund targeting students in the heavy construction equipment technology, surveying technology and civil engineering technology majors at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Liberty Excavators Inc. recently presented a check for $25,000 to fully endow the Liberty Excavators Inc. Fund at Penn College.

The Service and Operation of Heavy Equipment Association will hold a precision Heavy Construction Equipment Rodeo during Penn College's Fall 2008 Open House from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Oct. 26 at the Schneebeli Earth Science Center.
