That simple yet powerful tool is taking "center stage" in Penn College's residence hall community, thanks to a collaboration between Residence Life and the college's American Welding Society student chapter.
Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Robert & Maureen Dunham Children’s Learning Center is among 22 recipients of gold-level recognition in Pennsylvania’s 2024 Equity in Early Childhood Education Champion Awards. Gold, silver or bronze recognition was awarded to 37 recipients based on their ability to enhance equitable practices within their program as part of providing quality services for children and families, promoting strong starts and the lifelong benefits of education for all children.
Blue skies were in the forecast for the eighth and final Employee Engagement Series session of the 2023-24 academic year, held recently at Penn College’s Lumley Aviation Center. With center staff and faculty serving as the “flight crew,” participating employees were engaged in a range of experiences for their professional development outing.
General Services’ HVAC and electrical crews recently installed a chiller from Sunbelt Rentals along the south-facing loop of the Breuder Advanced Technology & Health Sciences Center. The chiller will remain in place through Oct. 28. It’s a temporary fix for the building’s chilled water system – responsible for air conditioning – that failed last fall.
Pennsylvania College of Technology has hired industry veteran Benjamin R. Thomas as its director of construction and planning. Thomas comes to Penn College from Weis Markets Inc., where he was manager of architecture, responsible for the company’s conceptual and architectural designs. Thomas graduated in 1999 from Penn College's architectural technology major.
The second annual Night of Empowerment drew an enthusiastic crowd of more than 150 community members to Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Klump Academic Center Auditorium. Hosted by the Williamsport Representation Council, the recent gathering offered opportunities for networking and inspiring discussions.
The Dunham Children’s Learning Center celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss (March 2) and Read Across America Week (March 2-6) a tad early last week, due to Spring Break occurring this week. The colorful week of costumes and special book readers was a joyous time for children, parents and staff.
