The Dunham Children’s Learning Center celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss (March 2) and Read Across America Week (March 2-6) a tad early last week, due to Spring Break occurring this week.
Linda A. Reichert, director of the center, reports: "It was a week full of dressing in colors to match the book of the day and being a little silly for Wacky Wednesday. The children and staff were treated with many families, and even our own Dr. Woods, reading and having a joyous time with the children." (Dr. Woods is Nate Woods Jr., special assistant to the president for inclusion transformation.)
The CLC serves the children of students, faculty and staff while their parents work or attend classes. The center cares for children between the ages of 13 months and 5 years (or until the child is enrolled in kindergarten). Five classrooms for different age groups are part of the CLC, and each enjoys its own fun name: Bees, Bunnies, Bears, Birds and Butterflies.
