The co-founder of an "aviation ministry" that has flown hundreds of mercy missions in its six-year history who also is a graduate both of Pennsylvania College of Technology and its immediate predecessor is the recipient of the college's 2005 Alumni Citizenship/Humanitarian Award. William P.

Four returning graduates hosted a recent panel discussion on "The School of Hard Knocks," giving students at the Schneebeli Earth Science Center a heads-up on what to expect in the workplace once they graduate. The panel was presented during a regular meeting of the Student Success Program offered at theAllenwood-area campusevery fall.

A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 11, for Michael J. Dougher, 50, who passed away Oct. 27 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dougher was a recent graduate of the aviation maintenance technician program. The service will be heldin the East Main Street United Methodist Church, 507 E. Main St., Lock Haven.

Shawn Sidey, a 1996 Pennsylvania College of Technology graduate and a supervisor at Starbucks Coffee's York roasting plant, returned to campus Monday to talk to classes in the School of Hospitality. Sidey joined Starbucks almost two years ago and works in Automated Coffee Roasting Systems, for which he supervises roasting for the third shift.

The Alumni Relations Office hosted a group of alumni business leaders on campus Thursday, offering many the first chance to see changes that have been made to the campus since their graduation. The group included alumni from Pennsylvania College of Technology and both of its forerunners, Williamsport Area Community College and Williamsport Technical Institute.

Rain dampened much of last weekend's hot-air balloon festival at the Williamsport Regional Airport, but not the enthusiasm of aviation alumni from Penn College and its predecessors. A total of 29 alums and their guests visited the Lumley Aviation Center in Montoursville, where they were treated to a tour and a lesson on the college's aviation history.

Keith L. Jeffcoat, a 2001 graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology's plastics and polymer engineering technology program, returned to campus on Wednesday to share insight with current students.

Pennsylvania College of Technology presented a Mentorship Award on Saturday to American Infrastructure Inc., a company that employs more than 70 Penn College graduates. The award was presented during August commencement ceremonies at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport.

A Pennsylvania College of Technology alumnus has established a memorial scholarship to benefit diesel technology students at the college. Harold Sinclair, president of Woolever Brothers Transportation Inc., Montoursville, established the $1,000 annual scholarship in memory of his late wife, Hazel.
