Pennsylvania College of Technology's public television cooking series, "You're the Chef," is no longer a national show. It's an international series, thanks to recent distribution in Japan. The Emmy-nominated and Telly Award-winning series is airing throughout Japan via an educational satellite station.

Dr. Jill Landesberg-Boyle, an administrator with more than 10 years' experience in higher-education leadership, has been named vice president for student affairs at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Dr. Landesberg-Boyle whose hiring was approved Thursday by the Penn College Board of Directors following a nationwide search will begin her duties May 26.

Ample job opportunities and accelerated degree-completion times await students who participate in the integrated high-school-to-post-bachelor's-degree electronics curriculum being developed at Pennsylvania College of Technology with the aid of a $300,000 state grant.

Twelve students from Pennsylvania College of Technology brought home first-place medals in their competitions at the recent Pennsylvania SkillsUSA-VICA Conference in Lancaster, making them eligible to compete in the national SkillsUSA Championships in Kansas City, Mo., in June.

A scholarship for students studying urban forestry has been established at Pennsylvania College of Technology by a Chambersburg firm that employs two of the College's graduates. The $500 annual scholarship, which will be awarded in the spring, is being provided by George Pogue, owner of Cumberland Valley Tree Service.

"Breaking the Glass Ceiling," a panel discussion addressing issues faced by women in business, will be presented April 8 at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The event, which is free and open to the public, is being sponsored by several student organizations at the College: Students in Free Enterprise, Phi Beta Lambda and Women in Technology. The presentation will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Although the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's volleyball season may be short the Wildcats have only three April tournaments before the conference championships in early May first-year coach Patrick Brown hopes it is sweet. "They definitely have some potential," Brown said of his team, which opens its season Saturday in a 10-team tourney at Penn State-Delaware.

Environmentally friendly building products and services will be on display April 14-15, when the fourth annual Green Building Fair is presented at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The builders' show, which will be held at the Penn College Field House from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on April 14 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

A scholarship has been established at Pennsylvania College of Technology in memory of a former staff member in the architecture and drafting program at the College's predecessor institution, Williamsport Area Community College.

Coach Charlie Baum is making some bold predictions for his Pennsylvania College of Technology tennis team this season. And, realistically, he expects it to deliver. "I see us possibly winning a team championship just because of our depth . . . We're ready to go," the fourth-year coach said.
