Army Nurses are valued members of a health-care team that includes more than 14,500 members in 37 hospitals around the world. Army Nurses enjoy respect, autonomy and authority as they pursue various roles within the Corps. Eligible Penn College students are invited to explore how they can be a part of the team.

The Outdoor Adventure Club spent part of Saturday helping to maintain the Loyalsock Trail. Kyle Godfrey, club treasurer, arranged with local volunteers to acquire the tools needed and pinpoint areas where the 54-mile trail needed attention. OAC members hiked 2.5 miles of the trail with loppers and saws in hand, cutting back growth that had started to overtake the trail.

Two years ago, the Pennsylvania College of Technology women's volleyball team won a conference championship. Last year, it reached the championship game, but lost in the finals. On Sunday, it is seeking to return to the top.The Wildcats enter action at Rec Hall on Penn State's main campus in University Park as the top seed.

Students enrolled in the School of Health Sciences at Pennsylvania College of Technology will partner with state and local organizations to administer free flu shots throughout Lycoming County in November. Nursing, paramedic and physician assistant students will administer flu and pneumococcal vaccine and will distribute educational materials regarding the immunizations at seven sites.

All season long, the Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team has had one goal win its third straight conference championship. The Wildcats, under first-year coach Enrique Castillo, begin that quest in earnest at 5 p.m. Wednesday when they host Penn State Abington in a Penn State University Athletic Conference semifinal match on their home field along College Avenue.

Two replica Viking sleds built by students at Minersville Area High School will be displayed for the public on Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus from Nov. 6-21. Twenty-two Minersville Area High School students drafted and built the sleds during the 2005-06 school year as part of their senior project. They were led by project mentors Fred Lukus and Ned Eisenhuth.

Information Technology Services announces the rollout of a new spam-filtering system intended to curb the amount of electronic "junk mail" received by employees and students. Beginning Monday, Nov. 6, all incoming e-mail will be filtered through this new system. Suspected spam messages will be held in quarantine on the server.
