A leading provider of welding power sources and solar solutions is continuing its support of Pennsylvania College of Technology’s welding program. Fronius USA is entrusting to the college 10 I-Wave 300 machines, units that facilitate multiple welding processes. The new machines are replacing units the company entrusted in 2019.

Two Pennsylvania College of Technology physician assistant studies students feel inspired and grateful following a recent clinical education rotation in Peru. Erin T. Braxton, of Berwyn, Catherine Coy, of Clifton Park, New York, spent five weeks in Trujillo, one of Peru’s largest cities. They completed their elective clinical rotation at Florencia de Mora hospital, with Braxton focusing on obstetrics and gynecology and Coy on pediatrics.
Students beginning their classes in Fall 2024 at Pennsylvania College of Technology are offered a special discount for taking a trio of in-person courses this summer. The “Jump-start Your Future” program is giving a 50% discount for students who enroll in developmental math, English and First Year Experience classes during the eight-week Summer 2024 session that runs Mondays through Thursdays, June 11 to Aug. 1, at the college’s main campus.
Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Chef Charles R. Niedermyer recently led an eight-hour class for artisan baking professionals at the Bread Bakers Guild of America’s annual Camp Bread, held over three days in Providence, Rhode Island. Before diving into summer, Penn College News takes a look back at a spring semester highlight: the two-week visit by our new friends from Northern Ireland's North West Regional College. The contingent of 12 students and two faculty members visited Penn College early last month. Half of the group is studying cybersecurity at NWRC, with the others focused on engineering.
The “Engagies” were announced at the Student Leadership & Involvement Awards, a cherished tradition among the end-of-academic-year festivities at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Hosted by the Office of Student Engagement, the gathering honored student leaders, their mentors and the student organizations who make an impressive and positive impact on campus and in the community.
As part of the spring semester’s finale events, Penn College hosted an Excellence in Student Leadership and Service Awards Ceremony to honor 11 graduating students who distinguished themselves by their high academic achievement, quality leadership and exemplary service.
The video “A 30-Year Anniversary Nearly 100 Years in the Making: The Community Arts Center” won a bronze Telly Award in the 45th annual competition. The Pennsylvania College of Technology entry earned its Telly in the Non-Broadcast – Arts & Culture category. Penn College owns and operates the Community Arts Center, a cultural cornerstone for the region, located on West Fourth Street in downtown Williamsport.
