Pennsylvania College of Technology has granted faculty emeritus status to Dorothy M. “Dottie” Mathers, a professor of nursing who retired in December after 27 years of full-time teaching and 30 years of service overall to the college. Mathers began teaching nursing full time at Penn College in 1994.

The Pennsylvania College of Technology Board of Directors on Thursday approved faculty emeritus status for a longtime nursing faculty member and signed off on minor updates to the college’s bylaws. The board approved Dorothy M. “Dottie” Mathers for faculty emeritus designation.

Penn College will observe "National Denim Day" on Wednesday, when all members of the campus community are encouraged to wear jeans in solidarity and support of sexual violence survivors and to combat victim-blaming.

Pennsylvania College of Technology’s men’s golf team will defend its United East championship Saturday and Sunday at Rancocas Golf Club in Willingboro, New Jersey, and, despite what first-year coach Rob Lytle termed “the worst weather ever in a spring season (for golf),” he said his Wildcats are focused. “The spring season really has been driven by weather, (but) that’s how spring seasons go.

The “ripple” effect of Skyler R. Graver’s gumption will enhance Pennsylvania College of Technology’s landscape for generations to come. A 200-pound, 9-foot-long motorcycle sculpture accentuates the north end of the campus mall, thanks to Graver and other talented members of the college’s American Welding Society club.
