A group of nine students from the School of Hospitality at Pennsylvania College of Technology will use farm-fresh produce to conduct informal cooking demonstrations when they visit the Williamsport Outdoor Growers Market on Saturday, Sept. 8. The demonstrations will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus will serve as a regional host site for the statewide Pennsylvania Rural Development Council videoconference on Leadership Development on Friday, Sept. 14. The conference will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the videoconferencing center at the North Campus, located on Route 6 east of Wellsboro.

Carl Brashear, whose inspiring life story was recounted in the recent Bill Cosby-produced film, "Men of Honor," will speak at Pennsylvania College of Technology on Tuesday, Sept. 25, as part of the Fall 2001 Lecture Series, which begins Aug. 28. Brashear, who was portrayed by actor Cuba Gooding Jr.

The Master Teacher Award, the highest honor accorded to a Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty member, was presented Saturday to Chef Paul E.

The dean's list for the Summer 2001 session has been announced at Penn College. Those named to the list are full-time students who have earned a semester grade-point average of 3.5 or better. Penn Detroit Diesel-Allison donated $7,500 recently to Pennsylvania College of Technology in support of diesel-technology education for students and a training course for industry technicians. The contribution augments a previous contribution of $12,500 that the company made to the College last year.
