Penn Detroit Diesel-Allison Donates $7,500 for Tools, Equipment
Friday, August 3, 2001
Penn Detroit Diesel-Allison donated $7,500 recently to Pennsylvania College of Technology in support of diesel-technology education for students and a training course for industry technicians.
The contribution augments a previous contribution of $12,500 that the company made to the College last year. The funds will be used to purchase special tools and equipment for the Allison Transmissions course in the Diesel Technology associate-degree major and for instructor training.
"These types of relationships with industry which support the regular education program, as well as outreach programs to existing technicians are of tremendous value," said Wayne R. Longbrake, dean of the School of Natural Resources Management at Penn College. "This generous donation will help the College maintain its status as a leader in technology education and training."
Presenting the contribution to the College were Tom Pratt, senior technical support manager for Penn Detroit Diesel-Allison; Dennis J. Dolan, vice president of engine and transmission sales for Penn Detroit Diesel-Allison; and Tai A. Tran, account manager for the Eastern Region of Allison Transmission Division of General Motors.
