Encouraging students to make good decisions and enjoy Spring Break safely is the focus of an event to be offered Tuesday, March 4, at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
"A Student's View of the Middle East" will be the program presented at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, at the Pennsylvania College of Technology Library. Tara D. Baier of Williamsport, a senior in the Graphic Design bachelor-degree major at Penn College, will offer a slide presentation describing her summer studies at the American University in Cairo, Egypt.
In a national competition, Pennsylvania College of Technology recently received Gold, Silver and Merit Awards for a magazine it publishes, a television cooking series it produces and a TV commercial it created to promote visitation days for prospective students and their families.

The series, which runs through April 29, is sponsored by the Student Activities office at Penn College. All of the performances, which are free and open to the public, begin at 8 p.m.
Beginning in March, Pennsylvania College of Technology's Technology Transfer Center will offer three six-week instructional sessions in yoga for beginners and experienced yoga practitioners. "Introduction to Yoga A Beginning Practice" and "Introduction to Yoga A Foundation Practice" will provide participants with a foundation series of asana (posture) that can be practiced anywhere.
"Time Uncertain: Box Constructions 1986-2003," an exhibit of works by Donald J. Forsythe, will be presented Feb. 11 to March 7 at The Gallery at Penn College. Forsythe, a faculty member at Messiah College, will present an artist's talk at 5:15 p.m. Feb. 11. The talk and the exhibit opening, which will run from 4:30 to 7 p.m. that day are free and open to the public.
High-school students from five counties can learn about the workings of the free-enterprise system and prepare themselves for successful business careers by attending the Northern Tier Business Adventure on April 12-15 at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus near Wellsboro.
A team of students from Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Construction and Design Technologies placed second recently in a national construction competition in Las Vegas.
