A CD-ROM used in student-recruitment efforts has earned Pennsylvania College of Technology a prestigious Award of Distinction in The Communicator Awards, an international competition honoring excellence in visual communications. The College won the award in the "Multi-Media/Interactive CD-ROM" category for its "degrees that work" marketing tool for prospective students.

Pennsylvania College of Technology presented student achievement awards to graduates receiving degrees and certificates at Winter Commencement ceremonies Saturday, Dec. 21. The Community Arts Center Board of Directors received a big surprise at its regular meeting Dec. 18, when the proceedings were interrupted by representatives of the Arts Center's 200-plus volunteer corps.

Explosive growth in Pennsylvania College of Technology's scholarship portfolio takes on new meaning with the establishment of the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter for the Society of Explosives Engineers Scholarship fund. Pennsylvania College of Technology has received approval for a campus chapter of Sigma Beta Delta, the International Honor Society for Business, Management, and Administration. The Penn College Sigma Beta Delta chapter was officially accepted Dec. 3. Invitations will be extended to qualified students in February, and the first members will be inducted in April.

A new $13 million library to be constructed on the campus of Pennsylvania College of Technology will be named the Roger and Peggy Madigan Learning Resources Center, in honor of the state senator and his late wife. It was announced earlier Thursday that $7 million in capital budget redevelopment assistance will be provided by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to support the project.

Seventeen Pennsylvania College of Technology fall sports athletes have been given post-season awards. Ten received all-Pennsylvania Collegiate Athletic Association (all-state) accolades and the other seven earned all-Eastern Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference honors. Reaping all-PCAA awards were: Golf Matt Haile (freshman/Shikellamy) and Christian Scheller (freshman/North Pocono).

DuPont Performance Coatings will provide training and support materials for Pennsylvania College of Technology's Collision Repair program in its new home on the College's main campus. The program will be relocated to the former HON manufacturing facility, currently undergoing renovations for conversion to classroom and laboratory space.
