In light of bias, student project explores ‘Health Caring’

Inspired by the experiences of his grandmother, Bryan M. Bilbao, of Old Forge, explored disparities in health care as he completed his combined bachelor’s/master’s degree in physician assistant studies at Pennsylvania College of Technology. Bilbao graduated cum laude in August.
As Pennsylvania College of Technology student Bryan M. Bilbao, of Old Forge, sat in a hospital room with his aging grandmother near the end of her life, he noticed a difference in the way health care professionals interacted with her.

Students assist with health, safety at Little League World Series

Rebecca Baker, an emergency management & homeland security student at Pennsylvania College of Technology, is helping to keep participants and guests safe during the 2022 Little League Baseball World Series. Baker, of Watsontown, is an intern in Little League International’s security and risk management departments. Nine students in Penn College’s paramedic program are also assisting at the series, running Aug. 17-28.

TC Energy Foundation donation boosts welding instruction

TC Energy Foundation funding will enhance the welding & metal fabrication curriculum at Penn College, specifically in the area of orbital welding, an automated process used to securely join tubes, pipes or tube sheeting in pipeline welding.

Students and staff from Pennsylvania College of Technology’s Le Jeune Chef Restaurant and its baking, pastry and culinary arts majors are preparing three meals a day for the 20 competing Little League Baseball World Series teams in South Williamsport.
