The Penn College Construction Association partnered with Pennsylvania State Police this semester, creating two sets of custom cornhole boards and four awards for Lycoming County Police Camp Cadet’s second annual tournament next summer.
Earning a big "Thank you" were those members who made it happen during their free time: Mason R. Condo, of State College; Henry G. Gaffey, of Wexford; Elliott K. Gmiter, of Gibsonia; John P. Kimport, of Camp Hill; Corbin R. Moore, of Manheim; Chris S. Rarick, of Allentown; and Lizeth V. Reyes-Becerra, of Erie.
Rarick is pursuing an associate degree in building construction technology; the others are enrolled in the four-year residential construction technology & management major.
"I'm really happy this project was a success and I hope this becomes an annual collaboration with the Lycoming County Camp Cadet Program," said Reyes-Becerra, president of PCCA. "It would be interesting to see how the designs for the cornhole boards and awards evolve throughout the years."
PCCA is a student organization open to all majors. Anyone interested in joining is encouraged to email Gaffey, the club's secretary.
Camp Cadet, structured similarly to a police academy, aims to introduce its young participants to opportunities in the criminal justice field and to establish a positive relationship with law enforcement personnel.
