With all of the construction at Pennsylvania College of Technology over the past several years, it might be surprising that a special ceremony would be held to unveil a new wall. But as Penn College President Dr. Davie Jane Gilmour noted, this is no "ordinary" wall.

An alumnus whose name is a familiar sight on highways from New York to Illinois to North Carolina made his first visit to the college this week since graduating 42 years ago. Mike Ward, who graduated from Williamsport Technical Institute's Diesel Technician program in 1963, recently retired as executive vice president of the Altoona-based Ward Trucking Corp.
Marie G. Smith, assistant professor of dental hygiene (center in photo at left), joined a group of students at their on-campus residence for an evening of making baked nuts using her favorite recipe.
