Big news from Career Services! Beginning this fall semester, students and alumni are able to register on eRecruiting without having to attend the WOW 100 eRecruiting Orientation. eRecruiting is Counseling and Career Services' Web-based recruiting software system for all placement functions.

Since Aug. 22, there have been five armed robberies in Williamsport. The robberies have occurred in the 1200 block of Park Avenue, the 500 block of Fifth Avenue, the 1900 block of West Fourth Street, the 400 block of Washington Boulevard and the 1000 block of Park Avenue. The victims all have been walking or standing along sidewalks or streets.

William Ma, professor of mathematics at Pennsylvania College of Technology, recently had a research paper "Euclidean Properties of Hyperbolic Polar Coordinates" published in an international, peer-reviewed journal. Ma's paper appears in Computational Methods and Function Theory, Volume 6, 2006. The journal, which publishes original research papers in complex analysis, is issued annually.
A newly created scholarship fund at Pennsylvania College of Technology will honor the memory of a beloved and highly respected professor who died in 2005. The Lamont E. Butters Memorial Scholarship will provide a $250 annual award to a full-time student in Penn College's civil engineering technology or surveying technology majors.
The official association for the landscape contracting and lawn-care industry has fully accredited Pennsylvania College of Technology's landscape/nursery technology majors. The Professional Landcare Network will formally present the accreditation at a faculty forum during its Student Career Days at Michigan State University from March 29 to April 1.
The Cisco Systems Network on Wheels will visit Pennsylvania College of Technology's main campus on Thursday, Sept. 7, offering a look at real-world, small- and medium-sized business solutions. The visit is being sponsored by NEC Unified Solutions Inc. and hosted by Penn College's Cisco Networking Academy.
Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus will offer a state Department of Education-approved, 112-hour nursing assistant course beginning Sept. 15. Classes and clinical training for the noncredit course are scheduled for Mondays and Fridays, Sept. 15 to Oct. 30. Classes will be held at the North Campus, located on Route 6 between Wellsboro and Mansfield.
